Ryan gave me Pokemon Diamond for V-day and I'm totally into it. Next time I hit a party I'm bringing it so you all better be ready for some fightin' and trading! Woot!
I'm tired though, long week at work.

So for those who didn't find out by the wonder that is Facebook, I am now a fully employed Graphics Assistant at Somersault. I'm very happy and excited about all of this. So far the work load has been light (After the craziness that was HallMark) but we are ramping up for a couple of holiday spots. I get to decorate my office. They may still hire a second assistant but until then the room is mine to do with as I please. I think that's a pretty sweet deal myself. I'm going to paint one of the walls and then I'll hang some stuff. I need to sit down and decide what's going on these walls. Hmmm...
Other than that? Not too much at the moment, but I'm sure there'll be more to report in the future.
Woot!

Well, Well so it's been a bit since I last spoke to you all. What's happening with me you ask? Many a thing of course!
My Birthday came and went. I received many well wishes. A few friends of mine wanted to go listen to the Beach Boys at Ravina so we had a picnic and I baked a cake. It seemed to go over well though there are a few improvements I wish to make next time. Live and learn. Jenny gave me some cute fake food and a Devil Bush mug. Ryan got me a Wii. So then I bought Zelda. And it's totally awesome. Yeah. I played 2 days strait and my arm was sore for days afterwards.
Then I got a call about an interview at this place. Passed a phone interview, went in this past week for a face to face. I think it went well. I REALLY want this job. I'm working hard to try and have something new for them every time I talk to them. Busting my butt on my web redesign right now.
Oh, I have a reel up. Check it out. There some stuff I want to work to replace, but I feel like it's a pretty solid start. Let me know what you all think.

Keep your eyes peeled for a new look. Much love!
I want this job so bad!!!

I'm in LA territory now. Mere and Greg's new place is nice. Their bathroom has a few issues but it should be cleared up soon enough. It's been a fun visit, but tonight I'm on my way to San Diego and to Ryan. I'm heading out a lot later than I wanted but I'm getting a free ride from a friend of Mere's who's headed to comiccon as well.
Oh Virgin Air was about as nice as Qatar Air so I recommend it. I've watched a ton of movies this trip. United had a crappy movie set up, but all my other flights have had cool tv things. I caught up on movies I missed out on. Some were ok. Premonotion was pretty bad, Number 23 was ok, Happily Never After I couldn't watch more than 20min of. That was just about aweful. Bridge to Teribithia was nice, Last Mimzy was cute. I really liked Meet the Robinsons and Happy Feet. TMNT was fun too. Ghost Rider was pretty bad. I don't remember what else I saw at the moment. Oh, I did rewatch Hot Fuzz.
By the way, I'm in love with Simon Pegg. He's sort of replaced Jude Law for me since I'm not big on guys who get caught doing their maids by their wives. I guess British and funny does it for me when it comes to actors. Then again, I do have a thing for Colbert ^.~
Love you babe!

| Stuff n' Stuff (Oh and Harry Potter 7 without spoilers) |
[23 Jul 2007|01:32am] |
Ok, so I said pictures soon but alas I can't seem to get them from the camera to a computer. I think the batteries may be too low and that's why it isn't working this time. Pictures will probably wait until I'm home then. Sorry. I wanted to post pictures of the harry Potter book line.
Yeah we waited in line for the book, and met some really nice people while there. It actually seemed to me that the line at least half consisted of people from out of the country. There were some kids from I think it was Finland or the Netherlands at the front. Josh and I got in line about 8:00. There was a couple in front of us from Conneticut who had reserved a copy at a different store and just came to wait in line for a while and see what it was like at the big store in London. Ah, we waited at the Waterstones Piccadilly, the largest book store in London.
Vicki, it turns out, was a children's librarian (Who loves Harry Potter) and was blogging her experience for the kids and friend at home. Her journal is at http://hpnorwalk.wordpress.com/ and she has a flicker account with pictures from the line, including one of Her, her husband, Josh and Me with my eye's closed.
Vicki and I got interview for CBS because we were americans waiting for a book in London. I texted Ryan but he said he didn't see me on. Anyone see me? Oh well, maybe I can find something on youtube ^.~
We finally got our books about 2:00am. We were so tired, we didn't think about the party going on. We bought our books and walked out. I had forgetten to check the other floors of the book store and see if there was anything cool going on. They did make the store downstairs kinda cool though. We got on the bus and started reading, then I climbed in bed and read until the sun came up.
My No-Spoiler feelings on the book: It was rather slow about the first half way through, but then the pace picked up. The ending came together nicely with some pleasent twists, though over all Rowling held true to her comfortable format. I wish she had taken more chances with the structure of the book. However, I am satisfied and I must say: I knew it! I look forward to talking about it with people once they've read it.
Josh's Birthday was a good time. We saw Transformers, ate and bowled. I was really aweful, as always.
I love London, I'd like to work here one day. It's and awesome city, and the accent is oh so nice ^.~
Next stop: LA and San Diego ComicCon

[17 Jul 2007|03:28pm] |
I've made it to London. After a bit of drama and a long set of flights I'm here at Josh's. My Lay over in Doha wasn't bad. If they flew between more places I would definetly recomend Qatar Airlines.
I took a bus tour today. It was kind of cold, but I got to see lots of cool buildings. I really like the way London looks. Friday I'm gonna head to a Waterstones to wait in line for the new HP book and maybe join in some great HP fun. Saturday night we're going out for Josh's birthday.
I was hoping to go see a haunted castle but I don't think there are many in London. I'll be checking out the Tower though, and maybe even Tower bridge. ^.^ Pictures soon.

| With Love, From Shanghai |
[12 Jul 2007|11:51am] |
I'm hanging out here in Shanghai. So far it's been pretty fun. Eddie has a cute golden retriever who's very sweet. He and Mamiko are having a dog party on Saturday since tomorrow is his 1st birthday. They are getting all their dog loving friends together and going to a park (beach?) for a picnic type thing. I'll be sure to take pictures of all the dogs. I tried to upload some of the pictures I took but I don't know how to do it on Eddie's computer so they'll have to wait until London.
Japan was fun. I took the train Everywhere which pretty much wore me out. There wasn't much to do in Nagoya, though I did go to the robot museum which was pretty cool. I took a train out to the country to spend a night with Janelle, then hit the train again to Kokura on Kyushu to meet my sister's friend Shizuka whom she knew in high school. The day after I headed to Tokyo to explore Madhouse Studios and then headed back to Nagoya to sleep. My final day I spent running about in Akiba and other close parts of Tokyo until I hit a small inn to sleep before waking up early for the train to the plane. Like I said, lots of trains. The rail pass was very worth it.
My fist day in shanghai I slept and read as I was very tired of all the running around in Japan. Then I spent a day in search of a working ATM and the entrance to the YuuYuan Gardens. I found the ATM but not how to get into the gardens. Yesterday I went out with Eddie and a friend of his to buy stuff for their party and then did a little shopping while he worked. After we went for Indian food, tired of Chinese, which was wonderful. All the food here is very good and pretty cheap too. Also, the McDonald's here sells a drink that consists of fruity syrup, sprite, and vanilla soft serve on top that you mix around. I think it's delicious, though a bit on the sweet side. I wish they sold it in the states. If they did I'd go get them all the time.
I hear everyone's getting ready for HARI PO- (Harry Potter) to come out. I can't wait to see the movie. it's gonna be the first thing I do when I catch up to Ryan in San Diego. Well ok, maybe not the first thing, but pretty close to ^.~ I miss him and everyone at home a lot. I hope LuLu isn't hiding too much, I know she's sad I'm not around, but I know Ryan is taking very good care of her.
I'm looking forward to seeing Josh in London. I hope we'll have lots of time together. I miss him too. I heard there's very good Indian food in London so maybe he'll know a place. I hope he's got a good haunted castle picked out ^.^ I cant wait to get the new Harry Potter book too. I'll also likely be checking out Japan Expo while I'm there. We'll see ^.^
Missing you all,
ES

Well, I'm getting ready to head to the airport. I'm sort of in a state of disbelief. As in, I can't believe I'm doing this. Well, it'll be great.
Sorry to everyone I wasn't able to catch before leaving. And I didn't mean to miss Big City. I wanted to go, but I've been sleeping weird (which is perfect for being arround the world).
I'll post picture updates whenever I can. See you all around ^.~

| stuff and stuff |
[19 Jun 2007|03:55pm] |
About a week and a half and I'll be off and away.
This weekend there's a lot going on. JAD and ACen Matsuri fill the weekend each, but then there's work Saturday, and Sunday is Erin's wedding. I'm not sure I'll get much time at Matsuri or JAD. Ryan and I still need to pick out a wedding gift. I know, waiting till the last min is so bad.
I'm just about set for my trip. I need to get my China Visa still, and take LuLu to the vet before I go. I also still need to buy my ticket home from San Diego, but I've been waiting on Ryan so we could try and fly together. I'm probably going to sit down and start working out just what I want to take with me. Mostly cloths, a few books for all the 10 hour flights. I don't want to carry much extra stuff as I'd rather keep my bags small. I'll also probably try and get a flickr account or something so I can upload photos durring my trip.
I guess I'll keep you posted.

| What time did you say? |
[22 Feb 2007|03:26pm] |
For a while I've been thinking about getting a tattoo but never really did more than talk about it. Partly cause I know my mom would find it disapointing, and partly because until I have a solid job I won't be able to afford the one I'd like to get. Today as I was driving in to work I started thinking about it. I don't know what got me going, but it really made me want to draw and work on my own stuff all day instead of going to work. Of course I went to work anyhow (am there now). If I'm not too tired when I get home I'll probably start finding reference or something.
ACen is starting to get more and more time consuming. Honestly I don't know how I'd do it all if I had a full time gig. As it is now, I'm starting to take on all sorts of little projects for people. I'm really excited about working with so many different people and getting to do work I'm really interested in.
In other news, I got my end date for Optimus this week. I'm not as upset about it as I first thought I'd be. I'm a little down, but more than anything I'm relieved. Mostly cause now the waiting is over. I look forward to moving on to the next big thing, and I have a so much I want to do. Soon enough (don't know when) I'll be heading to LA so I can break into films, and I'm hoping to do a round the world trip this summer, though I need to manage food and airfare money. we'll see how everything turns out.

These things are just so strange sometimes. You think you've finally got things figured out, started forming a plan, and then someone tells you something you didn't expect. Oh well, I'm going to just start forgeting everyone and the 'way things are' and just do what fits me. Be around the people who make sense to me. You have fun with your games and posturing because I know that as long as I'm true to myself and honest, I'm still gonna come out on top.

I broke a tooth... or maybe just kinda crushed it... on a bagle dog...
*sigh*
There was a little piece of what I assume was probably bone in the hotdog and while I was chewing a heard/felt *Crunch* I spit it out and didn't notice till later that I mashed my tooth in. It doesn't hurt, probably cause the tooth had had a filling. I'm guessing that probably made it weaker. Who knows, but since I don't have any insurence I had to go find which plans my old doctor is on. This will likely be a costly fix.

| Holy Shit! A post! |
[02 Feb 2007|05:07pm] |
Ok so I haven't posted for like 3 months now. Sorry but I've been rather busy with work and all that. Last month I finally got back in to at least occationally reading everyone's journals. I'll try not to neglect you all anymore.
Optimus is coming to a close. I don't know when exactly but I've started to look into my post Optimus plan. All of it makes me rather moody.
I have a crap load of things to do. Between MAPS/ACen, Work, and my own things there's little time to sit a do nothing without feeling guilty about it afterwards.
Oh, I found this awesome long black coat by Victorian Maiden on YahooAuctions Japan, but it's super expensive. If I was working full time now I'd buy it in a second, but as it is it'll probably dissapear and I'll have to hope I find another one that suits me next year. *sigh* I'm so frustrated with myself.

|
| To become serious in a new way... |
[26 Oct 2006|02:13am] |
So I haven't posted in forever, as usual. Only recently did I start reading journals again. I've been swamped between Optimus and Nickel City. But it's good. I'm glad to be working again and I feel like I've acomplished at least a little something.
There has been a wide combination of good and bad. There have been a couple of disipointments, but I'm trying my best not to let them hold me down. The cold and grayness of the onsetting winter doesn't help. Mostly the grayness. Also, I can't find my long coat. It was packed away and now I can't find it in any of the boxes I thought it'd be in. *sigh*
Yesterday I had a long talk with one of the editors at Optimus. He was having a bottle of wine with his assistant and getting ready for a long night of Wii comercials and was looking for a bit of distraction. In the end he gave me some good advise and offered me a few possibilities. I don't know how much editing compares to compositing and graphics but it seems much of the Post world is very aprentice based. At first this put me off. I mean, I wanna start doing great work right away, but looking at it now, while not my ideal, it looks like the begining of a real adventure in life.
There are a lot of things I want to do and places I want to go. I want to be able to do it all, but I know it will be hard, and there may be sacrifices sometimes. No matter what, I'm going to do my best.

Barenaked Ladies - Barenaked Ladies Are Me (Album) |
] |
So yesterday morning (Tuesday) was my interview. I feel pretty good about it and think it went rather well. It was at a place called Optimus. I'm realy excited and hope that when I hear back it's good news. I think Optimus is the perfect kind of fit for me (And hopefully me for it). Well until I hear back I'll be waiting in anticipation. Wish me luck! Man, I hope I get this.
I also woke up to a bad bout of what I'm pretty sure was food poisoning. I was pretty sick (ie. puking) but told myself that I could continue being sick once the interview was over so I needed to move my butt. At first I thought it might've just been nerves but I'd never been that sick before so I wasn't sure. I made it through the interview with no problems (Thank god!!) and after my interview I headed to school before planning on having lunch with Josh. Unfortunetly I got sick again at school so I canceled lunch and just headed home. The rest of the day was rather rough until I was finally able to sleep off most of it. I couldn't eat anything all day, threw up a lot, and every muscle in my body got sore. Luckly all that is left is the sore muscles. My stomach is a little tender but that should pass in the next day or so.

OMG! They want me to come in and INTERVIEW!
I'm so excited I'm freaking out. I hope I make a good impression. I want to do so good they're like, "Yup, you're the girl we want."
More news to come once something's happened.

| A special day... for ME! |
[01 Sep 2006|11:46am] |
In roughly an hour I'll officially be 24. I don't feel old or anything. Tonight my family and I are planning on doing dinner. Ryan might not be able to make it since he's been working crazy hours again. At least now he seems to be on a project he enjoys. We'll probably catch a movie when he comes by.
I was thinking Saturday might be nice to hang out with a few friends if anyone's interested. There's a lot of movies I want to see so we could always see another one, or if someone would like to host me at there apartment (John? Dustin? ^.~) I could cook or something.
Sunday my long time family friend Ed is getting married. I always like weddings. Good food and fun times.
I've moved home. The last few weeks have been crazy and hectic. Over all everything has been rather frustrating. While it's great I have this to fall back on, this isn't at all were I wanted to be. I think for now I'm going to get myself a regular job so I can save some money and go back to working on a demo reel, once I've unpacked a little. Yeah, I hate moving so much. Yuck! Thanks to everyone who helped me with my crap.
I got an email from Optimus on Monday, but they haven't called for an interview. It's a bit of a let down since I really wanted this chance but I don't know what more I could have done. They only wanted resumes and cover letters.

| Accidentially on Purpose... |
[16 Aug 2006|09:50am] |
So I haven't updated in a long while. Not a whole lot is new with me though. There's been a lot of stuff going on, some good and some bad.
The 2nd was Ryan's B-day. We went out with his family the Sunday before and did Red Robin and Monster House, both which were good. We also got in a halo night at Dan and Jasmin's recently which was fun. I sucked it up most of the time but I did ok on BullShiz Shotguns.
Yesterday was Ryan and I's 3rd year Anniversary. Sunday night he treated me to Melting Pot and a movie. We saw Pulse which was so bad everyone was laughing, but it was a good night. Yesterday I made dinner and a cake and we exchanged gifts. I gave him a cool figure and he gave me a gift certificate for an uber spa day. I'm pretty excited about the spa day. I'm probably going to schedule it for after I move. Oh yeah...
I'm Moving again. Which means I need some of my wonderful friends to Help carry things. There will of course be the usual Free Pizza and Beer. It shouldn't be to tough this time. I'll likely be renting a Uhaul and a hand cart for those heavy boxes, plus I have some smaller boxes for my books this time. Mostly I need hands and eyes to help with furniture and stuff. I'll be moving Aug 26 or 27 so clear a day for me. I'll update you with more as things are set. Check back again for an update!
